Inspect, impersonate, or ban users and teams from the super admin dashboard.

Shadcn UI and Tailwind CSS

Shadcn UI components styled with Tailwind CSS v4, themed once and reused across the app and the marketing site.

Dark Theme

Dark and light themes, with the choice left to your users.

Blog

A blog for product updates and SEO content, fed by the kit's CMS interface.

Documentation/Help Center

A documentation section for your own users, so onboarding questions get answered before they reach your inbox.

Mobile Friendly

Responsive layouts for the app and the marketing pages.

Serverful/Serverless Stack

Runs on serverless platforms or on a long-lived Node server, with deployment guides for both.

Strict code standards

Strict TypeScript and linting across the monorepo, so type errors surface before your users find them.

E2E Testing with Playwright

Playwright end-to-end tests for authentication, team accounts, and invitations, written with page objects you can extend.

Emails with React Email

Transactional email templates written in JSX with React Email.

Mailers

One mailer API with Resend or Nodemailer (SMTP) behind it.

Plugins

Add-on plugins for your SaaS: testimonials, feedback, roadmap, and waitlist.

You Own the Code

The full source lives in your repository. Change anything; nothing is hidden behind a package you cannot edit.

Documentation

Every kit has its own documentation, from installation to going to production.

SEO Basics

Per-page metadata and a sitemap route on the marketing site.

Swappable Providers

Billing, email, CMS, and monitoring sit behind interfaces, so changing provider is configuration, not a rewrite.

AI Agent Rules

AGENTS.md and CLAUDE.md files at the root and in each package teach coding agents the kit's conventions.

MCP Server

An MCP server in the repository gives your agent structured access to the kit.

Course

The MakerKit course walks through building a SaaS on the kit, from idea to launch.

Realtime Notifications (Supabase)

In-app notifications delivered with Supabase Realtime on the Supabase kits.

Internationalization

Every UI string comes from translation files, so adding a language is content work, not a refactor.

Continuous Updates

New features, fixes, and dependency upgrades land continuously, and you pull them into your repository with git. See the changelog.

Maintained Full-Time

Focus on your product, not infrastructure

What a React Router SaaS costs to build from scratch

React Router gives you loaders and actions. Accounts, roles, billing webhooks, and admin tooling are still yours to write. With AI coding tools, that is still 49-81 hours of senior developer time, including fixing the patterns AI got wrong.

What it is and who it is for

A React Router SaaS starter kit for teams that want explicit data flow

Loaders read, actions write, and Postgres Row Level Security decides who sees what.

What is the MakerKit React Router SaaS Starter Kit?

The MakerKit React Router SaaS Starter Kit is a Turborepo monorepo with a React Router 8 app on Supabase. It ships authentication with MFA, personal and team accounts, roles and invitations, Stripe or Lemon Squeezy billing (flat, per-seat, metered, and one-off), a super admin, and a marketing site with a blog and docs, plus agent rules and an MCP server.

Best for

  • Developers who prefer React Router framework mode to the Next.js App Router
  • Teams coming from Remix who want loaders and actions to carry over
  • B2B products that want Supabase Auth and RLS for tenant isolation

Not for

  • Projects that need Drizzle or Prisma on their own Postgres; this kit is Supabase only
  • Teams that want React Server Components
  • Non-developers: it is source code you run and deploy yourself

RLS behind every team

Personal and team accounts, roles, and invitations are backed by Supabase Row Level Security policies.

Loaders and actions, typed

Route.LoaderArgs and Route.ActionArgs everywhere, with a Supabase server client created from each request.

Billing gateway

Stripe or Lemon Squeezy, with flat, tiered, per-seat, metered, and one-off billing, plus a documented credit-based billing recipe.

Deploy where you like

Production guides for Vercel, Cloudflare, Fly.io, Docker, and a VPS.

Built for AI coding agents

AGENTS.md and CLAUDE.md files at the root and in each package, rules for Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, and Gemini, and an MCP server your agent can call.

An upgrade path from Remix

Maintained since the Remix days, with a documented migration from Remix to React Router.

With and without MakerKit

Tenant checks repeated in every loader
RLS policies enforce tenancy in Postgres
Wiring Stripe webhooks to accounts and seats yourself
A billing gateway with per-seat and metered billing built in
An agent guessing where React Router code belongs
AGENTS.md files and an MCP server that describe the kit
Picking a deploy target and hoping it fits

React Router SaaS Starter Kit FAQ

What is the React Router SaaS Starter Kit?

A Turborepo monorepo with a React Router 8 app on Supabase. It ships authentication with MFA, personal and team accounts, roles and invitations, subscription billing with Stripe or Lemon Squeezy, a super admin panel, and a marketing site with a blog and docs. It is the successor to the MakerKit Remix boilerplate.

How does data loading work in the React Router kit?

Through React Router's own primitives. Pages read data in route loaders and write it in route actions, both typed with the generated Route.LoaderArgs and Route.ActionArgs, and both create a Supabase server client from the incoming request. Components submit to actions with useFetcher. There are no React Server Components or Server Actions to reason about.

Why choose React Router over Next.js for a SaaS?

Choose React Router if you want an explicit request and response model: routes declared in routes.ts, data in loaders, mutations in actions. Choose the Next.js kit if you want React Server Components, the larger ecosystem, or a Drizzle or Prisma data layer, which the React Router kit does not offer.

Does the React Router kit have the same features as the Next.js Supabase kit?

The core SaaS features, yes: auth with MFA, team accounts, roles, invitations, per-account billing (flat, tiered, per-seat, metered, and one-off payments, plus a documented credit-based billing recipe), a super admin, emails, and translations. The data layer is Supabase only, and billing runs on Stripe or Lemon Squeezy.

Where can I deploy a React Router SaaS built with MakerKit?

Vercel, Cloudflare, Fly.io, Docker, or a VPS. The documentation has a production guide for each, plus a go-live checklist covering Supabase auth settings, environment variables, and database webhooks.

I have an app on the old MakerKit Remix kit. Can I migrate it?

Yes. The docs include a Remix to React Router migration guide: imports move from @remix-run/react and @remix-run/node to react-router, json() responses become plain returned objects, loaders and actions use the generated Route types, and file-based routes become entries in routes.ts.

Is MakerKit a one-time purchase or a subscription?

A one-time purchase. You get a lifetime license to the source code, continuous updates for the stack you bought, and unlimited projects for your own business, with no renewal fee. Building products for clients requires a Team license, and each client that receives the code needs their own license.

What support is included?

Discord support from me, Giancarlo, the founder who works on MakerKit full-time, and from the community. I help with setup, kit-related issues, and questions about the codebase. Team licenses add a private Discord channel for your team.
