How we handle your data

Last updated: 22 August 2026

This policy explains what personal data MakerKit collects when you visit this website or buy a licence, why we collect it, and who we share it with. If anything here is unclear, contact us at info@makerkit.dev.

Who we are

MakerKit sells SaaS starter kits as licensed source code. The website is operated from the European Union. For any privacy question, or to exercise the rights described below, email info@makerkit.dev or use the contact page.

What we collect

When you browse the site. Our host records standard server logs — IP address, user agent, requested URL and timestamp — for security and reliability. We use these to keep the site running and to investigate abuse.

When you buy a licence. Checkout is handled entirely by our payment providers. We receive your name, email address and billing country, plus the licence you purchased. We never see or store your full card details.

When you contact us. We keep the contents of your message and your email address so we can reply and to keep a record of support history.

When you join the Discord community. Your Discord identity is linked to your licence so we can grant access to customer-only channels.

Cookies and tracking

We run an affiliate programme through Affonso. If you arrive via an affiliate link, a cookie is set that lasts 30 days so the referring affiliate can be credited if you buy. This cookie identifies the referrer, not you personally.

Pages that embed third-party content — YouTube videos, X posts, or ProductHunt badges — may set their own cookies when that content loads. Those cookies are governed by the respective provider's privacy policy.

Who we share data with

We do not sell personal data. We share it only with the service providers needed to run the business:

  • Vercel — website hosting and request logs
  • Stripe and Lemon Squeezy — payment processing and invoicing
  • Supabase — storage of account and licence records
  • Affonso — affiliate attribution
  • Discord — the customer community

Each of these processes data on our behalf under its own terms, and some are located outside the European Economic Area. Where that is the case, transfers rely on the safeguards those providers put in place, such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep it

We keep purchase and licence records for as long as your licence is active, and afterwards for as long as we are required to for tax and accounting purposes. Support correspondence is kept while it remains useful for supporting you. Server logs are retained on our host's standard schedule.

Your rights

If you are in the European Economic Area or the UK, you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. If you are in California, you have comparable rights, including the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them.

To exercise any of these, email info@makerkit.dev. We will respond within the timeframe the applicable law requires. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes affecting existing customers will be communicated by email.
